SCC Call for Volunteers: Energy, Oil & Gas Supply Chain Benchmarking

Supply Chain Council Introduces Working Groups to Define Supply Chain Metrics
Volunteers sought to share and develop thought leadership for sub-teams in upstream, downstream, midstream, and infrastructure, equipment and maintenance.

The supply chain accounts for up to 90% of total costs for energy, oil and gas companies. Yet, there is currently no common standard for benchmarking such costs to guide strategic trade-off decisions and provide a market-based foundation for performance improvement efforts.

APICS Conducting CSCP Job Task Analysis Research

APICS is conducting a new market research program to gain insight on general expectations and performance in supply chain management roles. The Certified Supply Chain Professional Job Task Analysis project will validate the knowledge and skills required of individuals working in supply chain management roles. The results of this survey will directly affect the CSCP exam blueprint and domains.

SCC and AAIA Launch Automotive Aftermarket Industry Group

Supply Chain Council (SCC) and the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association(AAIA) have established a special Industry Group to develop supply-chain best practices, performance measures and implementation guidelines for automotive aftermarket supply chains. This initiative will help operations managers in the automotive aftermarket leverage the Supply Chain Operations Reference model (SCOR®) to drive long-term improvements in the end-to-end supply chains of their companies.

Deadline Extended for 2010 Supply Chain Excellence Awards

Supply Chain Council (SCC) will hold this year’s Global Awards for Excellence Ceremony during the Supply Chain World Europe conference in Munich Germany just before the evening reception on 25 October 2010. Due to this ceremony time change, submissions will still be accepted for all categories (except the U.S. Department of Defense Operational) until 31 March 2010. DoD submissions remain due by March 1.
